WHAT DOES BROAD SPECTRUM MEAN?

SIP ON THIS | physician facts

Broad spectrum refers to products that contain a combination of cannabinoids, terpenes and other compounds found in hemp. Close to 99% of THC is extracted from broad spectrum CBD.

Both full spectrum and broad spectrum CBD products contain cannabinoids and terpenes. However, full spectrum CBD contains higher levels of THC. Isolates are pure CBD and not perceived to have the same benefits as broad spectrum or full spectrum CBD.

SOTA broad spectrum CBD products contain both cannabinoids and terpenes, each of which has an impact on the body. Because terpenes can affect how the body responds to cannabinoids, the combined effect is greater than taking each cannabinoid or terpene individually. This is known as “the entourage effect.” SOTA broad spectrum products offer the entourage benefits associated with full-spectrum CBD, with none of the psychoactive effects of THC.

It is important to understand that there can still be trace amounts of THC in CBD products, even if it is undetectable in a lab. There is no technology available to remove 100% of the THC in CBD products. It is important to understand what “THC Free” means.

It is industry standard to list on the label whether the product contains isolate, broad spectrum or full spectrum CBD.
